Experiencing Cape Town in the Winter

Every year winter rolls around and we have a few months of cold fronts and early sunsets, and probably a few less braais than we would like to have. But that’s okay because we give up a few of our summer favourites for a few great winter creature comforts, such as warm hoodies, an excuse to drink more coffee, slippers become socially acceptable footwear and more potjies. It is also low season for some amazing holiday destinations, especially if you can avoid the school holiday price hikes. Winter isn’t as bad as we think it is, especially on a global scale, we have it pretty okay, no one has to find their cars in the snow.

Cape Town

Cape Town is a great city hub full of restaurants, wine farms, nature reserves, rich history and fun activities for everyone in the family. It is a vibrant city with unique locations and local experiences. Some of the best local artists, nature reserves and flavours live all around the Cape. Your visit can include learning experiences, as well as things that some people only get to do once in their life time. There is definitely no shortage of things to do. Of course, if you are feeling brave, you are more than welcome to catch a few waves while you’re out there!

There are a large number of things to do in winter, such as go whale watching, this is an amazing experience that you should try not miss out on. If that is not your thing, there are game parks for you to go see the Big Five, and an aquarium full of ocean life. Of course there is brandy and wine tasting, or visiting one of countless local restaurants to enjoy famous Snoek, and local flavours.
