So you love the look of the De Keurboom Guesthouse and Kuils River, but you want to go do bunch of different activities. Well that’s awesome! There are a few things that you can do while you stay at our guesthouse. The main Cape Town area is about an hour away, but if you wish to keep it local, there still are a few places to visit. While there are many great things to see and do in Cape Town, such as table Mountain, or Reuben Riffel’s restaurant in Franschoek, or the V&A Waterfront. There are beautiful and relaxing activities to do closer to home.
Everyone loves to eat, and while you may enjoy creating your own gourmet meals, we also know that you’re also on a break and on those nights or afternoons where you just do not feel like cooking, there are plenty of restaurants, bars and pubs around that you could try. There is Soneike Sushi and Chinese Restaurant, Atlantic Fish, Veggie Shack, Barbaroozos, The Hungry Lion, Henri’s restaurant and Wine Bar or Annies Ladies Bar. There are also many well know franchises around in case that’s what you’re craving.
The Western Cape is so well known for its beautiful wine estates and nature reserves. Luckily for us, there are a few great wine estates that are a short car drive away. Jordan Wine Estate is a quick 20 minute drive, while J.C Le Roux’s wine estate is a quick 25 minute drive from our guesthouse. While you travel to these beautiful wine farms, you will also enjoy some breath taking scenery. Another nearby wine estate is Kliene Zalze Wine Estate. And another wine estate is the Waterford Wine estate.
Besides wine estates and great restaurants to enjoy, there are a few other things that might just tickle your fancy. Stellenbosch is not too far away, and if golf is your thing, the Stellenbosch Golf Course is a quick 25 minute drive. There is strawberry picking at the Polkadrive Strawberry Picking Stellenbosch. You could enjoy a beautifully scenic day in the Durbanville Rose Garden. Or you could spend some time at Cheetah Outreach in Firgrove.

There are so many things to do while staying at De Keurboom Guesthouse; so many that we cannot actually name it all. You just need to know that there so many wine farms, nature reserves and so many plant, animal and insect sanctuaries, that you will experience a whole new side to nature and see the beautiful hidden gems that South Africa and the Western Cape have to offer.
